Lockheed Martin UK - INSYS has achieved certification toBS OHSAS 18001 Occupational health and safety management systems. Certification was achieved following an independent assessment by BSI, against a set of challenging requirements. During a year-long effort, workplace hazards were identified and addressed; and operating procedures were reviewed and updated, with employees receiving tailored training on health and safety disciplines.
"This is an important achievement for our business and a reflection of the high standards we set for the safety of our employees," says Stephen Ball, managing director of Lockheed Martin UK - INSYS. Lockheed Martin UK, a unit of Lockheed Martin Corporation, is a leader in systems integration. The organization works on major programmes that span the aerospace, defence and civil sectors. Lockheed Martin works with more than 100 business partners and employs over 1,700 people at sites across the UK.
This global security company based in the US employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. Certification to this standard reflects the company's continuous drive to protect employees from workplace hazards.

OCS, an international facilities services group based in the UK, has achieved triple certification to ISO 9001 Quality management, ISO 14001 Environmental management/ and BS OHSAS 18001 Health and safety management with BSI.
Until now, there has been no strict guidance in the UK relating to how audiovisual (AV) installations are carried out. This includes everything from computers and projectors to interactive whiteboards, plasma screens and loud speakers. For AV installation companies, processes can vary significantly.
