BSI British Standards has launched a new online standards portal, which will provide Chinese industry stakeholders and policy officials with access to international standards information and technical regulations. With this launch, British Standards continues to make inroads into the world's second largest economy. The bilingual portal (www.standardsgateway.org) was developed jointly by BSI and the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China (SAC). It is intended to facilitate international trade between the UK and the People's Republic of China. The portal offers access to nearly 100,000 national, regional and international standards and guidelines, as well as a core database containing 3,000 standards records considered vital to successful trade between the two nations. In addition, the portal includes educational materials on the structure, history and operation of the UK and Chinese standards systems.
