The British Retail Consortium (BRC) recently announced the publication of the Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 5 and the Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials Issue 3. These revised standards represent a thorough review of all clauses to provide greater guidance for food and packaging businesses, as well as clarity to auditors, according to the BRC. There will be a transition period between publication and full implementation. BSI Management Systems continues to offer assessment and training services to these standards (as well as the Consumer Products standard) and is a BRC accredited certification body and training provider.
