According to a survey by BSI Product Services carried out at the recent Aftermarket Show, 71 per cent of visitors think that all garages should have a Kitemark® , while over half said they would definitely take their car to a Kitemark® garage, given a choice.
In January, BSI sponsored the TalkShop Arena at the Aftermarket Show (part of Autosport International) in Birmingham. BSI sought to raise the profile of the automotive Kitemark® schemes for garage servicing and vehicle body repair within the automotive industry as well as the general public.
During the event, Quentin Willson, who is currently putting his weight behind the Kitemark® schemes, gave an interview with TalkShop host Steve Deeks. "There are plenty of good garages out there but also there are plenty of bad operators," he commented. "Kitemark® schemes help the general public identify the good ones. The Kitemark® brand, which we all know and trust, tells the consumer that they will get a consistent level of service, cost and general standards. There are lots of good garage schemes, but the Kitemark ® is the mother-brand. You remember it, it's everywhere, it is the one that has endured and that actually means something."
