Occupational assessment - including assessment centres, psychological testing and profiling of potential job candidates and biodata assessments - has become a vital tool in the executive recruitment and selection process. The recruitment industry and client firms have highlighted the need for a standard to provide guidance on the process for some time, and as a consequence ISO is now developing a standard for occupational assessment services, with BSI heading up the UK input for its development. The standard will cover the procedures and methods being used to assess people in the workplace or other organizations. It will cover everything from the selection, implementation and evaluation of the various assessment models available to the ethical issues surrounding the subject.
