In January, BSI presented its Kitemark® for Garage Services and Thatcham BSI Kitemark® for Body Repair at The Aftermarket Show, which runs alongside Autosport International at the Birmingham NEC. This annual event caters to motorsport and automotive industry professionals, non-trade people actively involved in the sport and motorsport fans. The event attracts approximately 70,000 consumer visitors each year and represented a unique opportunity to get its automotive message across.
"We're extremely pleased with the successes of both automotive schemes so far, but we've still got a strong and very distinct message to get out to the public for both," says Ian Harper, sales and marketing director of BSI Product Services. "We have recently kicked off our consumer campaign and therefore the 70,000 consumer visitor audience was a key factor in our signing up to the event."

A little bit extra for Kitemark® bodyshops and garages

As a consequence, BSI decided to offer an Extras marketing toolkit to bodyshops and garages that have earned the Kitemark.

Monarch Airlines chooses BSI for its European Union Emission Trading System (EU ETS) verification
Monarch Airlines has selected BSI as its provider of verification services against the requirements of the EU ETS directive. This comes in response to the industry's requirement to monitor its CO2 emissions and demonstrate compliance with the directive by submitting a verified annual emissions report by 31 March every year from 2011 onwards.
Question: Does business really need an integrated management systems standard?
Integrate or disintegrate - which would you choose? Some ten years ago the environmental standard, ISO 14001, was born and there are now over 100,000 organizations registered to it worldwide.
