Three of Netmagic Solutions' premier data centres have now been certified to ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security by BSI India. Netmagic Solutions is India's leading carrier-neutral managed IT services provider.
Data centres host critical data, which demands a sophisticated and rigorous Information Security Management System (ISMS) be put in place to protect that data. International laws covering the protection of data are on the rise, placing any data hosting company under particular scrutiny, especially where the data is processed across national boundaries.
"Information security was an area of concern," says Shailesh Karkhanis, manager - IT Governance, Netmagic Solutions. "We wanted to follow best practice in this area and we found out that ISO/IEC 27001 was the answer to our concerns."
ISO/IEC 27001 certification deals with establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving an ISMS. Certification by an independent third party to ISO/IEC 27001 provides an added lever of confidence and reassurance to Netmagic customers: they can be certain that their data is safe and secure within the company.
"Certification has helped us streamline our existing processes per the International Standard. Our customers were delighted when we were certified to ISO/IEC 27001."
"Netmagic is expanding aggressively in the country and has recently announced the opening of the company's largest data centre to date in Vikhroli, Mumbai," explains Sharad Sanghi, CEO and founder of Netmagic Solutions. "We have always provided services and solutions of the highest standards to our customers. Having received this certification for three of our data centres in Mumbai and Bangalore reinforces the company's commitment to providing quality services to enterprises globally. It will enable us to demonstrate Netmagic's superiority in the data centre industry in the country."
In response to the growing demand for Managed Hosting Services and Datacentre Services, Netmagic has been expanding rapidly in the country, following recent funding from Fidelity International Limited and Nexus India Capital. Netmagic Solutions currently specializes in Internet Data Centres, Managed Hosting, Remote Infrastructure Monitoring & Management, and Mail & Messaging Services.
"Our Nirlon Centre at Goregaon in Mumbai was certified to ISO/IEC 27001 in May 2006," says Karkhanis. "The scope of ISMS was extended to two more locations, specifically the Saki-Vihar centre in Mumbai and Bangalore in June 2008. We plan to include our new datacentre at Vikhroli in Mumbai, within the scope of ISMS by February 2008".
